Markus Schneider – Blockchain Tech & Regulation Editor
My name is Markus Schneider, a Berlin‑based blockchain journalist with a background in law and computer science. I studied Law at Humboldt University in Berlin and later completed a master’s degree in Information Systems in Munich, which pushed me into the space where code, finance, and regulation collide. Before moving into full‑time crypto media, I worked as a legal analyst in a fintech startup and as a consultant on European digital asset policy.
I specialize in blockchain infrastructure, protocols, and regulation. My work focuses on topics such as consensus mechanisms, privacy technologies, tokenization, central bank digital currencies, and how different jurisdictions are trying to regulate this fast‑moving industry. I enjoy unpacking complex technical papers and legal drafts, then turning them into accessible stories that developers, founders, and policymakers can all use.
My editorial philosophy is simple: be precise, be fair, and never shortcut due diligence. I am particularly interested in how decentralized systems can coexist with consumer protection and compliance without killing innovation. Outside of the newsroom, you will probably find me at Ethereum and Bitcoin conferences in Europe, testing new open‑source tools, or cycling along the Spree with a podcast on cryptography in my ears.
